I saw them making this Granola on Good Things Utah.

It is so good !! It is as good as a Cookie, Honest.

Look at all these Yummy ingredients.

Healthy Granola - ABC 4.com - Salt Lake City, Utah News: "Prepared by Laura Holbrook

Preheat oven to 275
Ingredients:
4 c rolled oats
1 c wheat germ
½ c flax seeds
¾ c protein powder (I use whey based vanilla flavor)
1 T cinnamon
Mix all these ingredients in a large bowl.
Then in another bowl mix:
½ c pure maple syrup
6 T canola oil
2 T water
Method:
Pour liquid mixture over dry ingredients. Stir thoroughly.
Spread evenly onto cookie sheet. Bake for approx 25 min or until lightly golden brown.
Optional add-ins: slivered almonds, coconut, raisins, dried fruit.
You can feel good about eating this! This contains 2 important ingredients for weight loss: Protein & Fiber curb your appetite! You will eat less and feel satisfied longer!

This morning Susan & LaRee finally talked us in to going to the 'Hot tub'
Why did we wait so long?

After we got back we decided to go the the market for the last time. ;(
They want make up on an their hair done, I tell them we are more than 30 miles from town and no one they know will see them.
Venna, "LaRee can I please do your hair ?
LaRee, " I think I can do it myself. Why don't you do Susan's?
And then I hear Susan's blow dryer on. And then they laugh.
I love my sister's, they make me Happy!!!

LaRee did her hair after I got through with it.

This morning I walked along the beach and around the Complex.
It is so beautiful and we feel very safe here.

How could it already be Wed?

We are having such a glorious time!
last night my shoulders and arms could hardly move to pick up the cards, that's pretty sad when you play so much your arms get tired.
Susan & LaRee just went to sit in the Hot Tub, they threatened me, so hence no pictures.
I keep thinking that the Old North Wind is blowing and it should be cold outside, it is just the Ocean Waves hitting the seashore.
Beautiful.
The girls left me at the clubhouse, hope they are fixing lunch.
Tah Tah for now!

MY SIDE OF THE STORY

So, yesterday and into the night, the 4 of us played 'Hand and Foot' until we could not sit any longer.
We are getting ready for bed, I swallow my many pills just like I always do in one big gulp.
To my horror I am chocking, I am motioning to Cheryl that I was in trouble.
I know she will either leap across the bed or run around it, cause she takes care of us like that.
I throw up the pills, (Oh Holy Guacamole).
Cheryl grabs a towel. We are both heading into the bathroom SHE steps on my pajama bottoms, I lose my balance and we both nearly land on a big heap on the floor. She saves me again. Remember, she takes care of us like that.
All this time we are both laughing.
We crawl into bed and I tell her, "I promise I will be better behaved tomorrow." So far, so good.
And we have a wonderful nights sleeps!!

Cheryl's side of the story--
I had just covered my head with about 42 sponge curlers and was trying to position my head in a comfortable way on my pillow. I saw Venna take a great big long gulp of water and thought "I've never seen her drink that much water in 1 swig." I didn't know that she had put a handful of pills in her mouth and was in the process of sending them down through her throat with the water. She opened her mouth and was making some sound that I had not heard her make before. I knew her air supply had blocked and I thought she must had a water bubble. Little did I know her passage way was blocked with debrie of calcium and lortab and ????
I jumped up while trying to decide whether to go around the backway and offer aid or from the front. On my way up whe suddenly took care of the problem herself and that's when I ran for the bathroom towel. As i coaxed her towards the bathroom her PJ's slipped down and yes, I did step on the hem of them--sorry to say. She must have slippery hips because her PJ's do slip down. I knew I had to hold her up because she had had another trip in/to that room before and scattered her make up bag contents. I didn't want to responsible for scattering anything else. --Note in her defense: For some reason the floor between our bedroom and the bathroom is a step up of about a 2 1/2" slant tile.
She got herself together nicely and was cleaning up a little "Holy Guacamole" off the floor when I looked down and noticed the new green stuff (HG)on my PJ bottoms right leg hem line. I had to take mine off and wash them out and hang to dry.
After all, we did have a good night's sleep and I'm going to watch her more closely tonight.
I really thought she would tell her side of the story in more morbid detail, but she told it like it was and I didn't have to clean it up. That either--she did.

Just 1 more thought---I didn't see any pills in that guacamole and she didn't take any more. It's 1 at a time tonight!

So, my 'Stepmother' goes to the store, she has groceries in her trunk and so....

she BACKS up in her garage. And did a mighty fine job.

She thinks she has backed up too far,

she gets back in the car to pull a little forward.

Forgetting she has already closed the garage door..... she drives into it,

backs up.......

hits the wall and pulls forward, again hitting the garage door.

And yes, the neighborhood heard the

commotion and comes running.

Oh, how embarrassing

and probably alot expensive.

asked me to go with him to Browse.
He made a picnic, loaded the 'Buggy'
and away we went.
It reminded us of a picnic long ago
when we were dating.

HOODOO-YA, RIGHT

So, today Kenneth & I go for a little road trip.
We were really enjoying all of the shapes and sizes of the rocks.
Kenneth says to me, "Look at all the Hoodoos."
And I start laughing,
He says, "You don't believe me, I can't believe
you don't believe me."
I tell him that no one would name anything a hoodoo.
"What do you want to bet?" He says.
I know better than to bet him as I am usually wrong.
We get home, look on the internet, and I'll be darned,
there are really such a thing.
Lots of Hoodoos are around us.
I love learning new things, but I still think it is a funny name.

PEEK-A-BOO CANYON-UNDERGROUND LAKE-INDIAN RUINS

-Last week Kenneth & I went to Peek-a-boo slot canyon.
Some Indian ruins, and an underground lake.
I took a picture of the lake, but it is pitch black in there.
(And pretty darn creepy)
We did have a picnic at a table by the lake.
Went into Kanab and got an Ice Cream.
It was a great 'Buggy' ride.
We went to the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, thinking we could
see the animals, and my thought being that Kenneth would fall in love
with a darling little puppy that I just knew
would be there waiting just for us.
But, you can't just go see the animals, you have to go
on a hour & half tour.
Or become a volunteer.
(Sorry sweet little puppy)
It was another great adventure.

SPENDING TIME

Kenneth and I have been able to spend alot of time together the past few months.

It has been great!
In June we went to the Balloon Rally in Panguitch.
This was right outside my Sisters back yard.
I got better pictures of the balloons, but had to post one with
the horses.
They were so pretty in the beautiful green field.

If you want really yummy food, you go to My Sister Susan's
house. Oh my, it was like a buffet all day.
(And I hear the whole weekend.)

On July 2nd, my Nephew came home from his mission.
We were all very happy to see him.
Well done, Loren!

Kenneth and I went from Coral Pink Sand dunes
to Mtn. Carmel Junction.
He loves the rocks and sand and sage brush.
But when we see the lush green, I start
shooting pictures.
I really Love this Guy.

He took me to breakfast an the junction, I can't smile and hold my
eyes open at the same time.
It was a good day.
Life is good!

This was Krysti at Girls Camp, I was so surprised that she had traded her 'Diet Coke' can for a water bottle.

This is at Leah's baby shower in 2003. I would like to know what we were talking about.
Man, oh man, I love these girls.
We are all going to miss them both terribly.
I am not questioning Heavenly Fathers Plan, but It will be good someday to know
why he needed them more.

Krysti Lyn Forsyth
ST. GEORGE - Krysti Lyn Forsyth, age 42, passed from this earth life on June 19, 2009. Krysti was born the second of eight children to Joseph Allen Walker and Bonnie G. Curtis on February 17, 1967 in Lakeview, Oregon. Krysti married Bryan J. Forsyth in the St. George LDS Temple on August 26, 1986.
Krysti spent her early years in West Valley, Utah. In 1976, Krysti moved with her family to New Harmony, Utah. From her parents, and in that gentle community, Krysti was shown great love. This love and understanding made a significant impact on her life and she tried to share that same love and understanding with all she met.
Krysti was a valiant member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints and felt a special bond between her and the young women she mentored during her 13 years in Hurricane, Utah. Krysti was passionate about art and interior design. This passion was reflected in her furniture refinishing, oversize clock making, and her oil paintings.
Krysti is survived by her husband, Bryan J. Forsyth and her three children; Zachary, Brenna, and Anna.
She is also survived by her father, Joseph Allen (Marleen)Walker; four brothers and three sisters: Charles S. (Melissa) Walker, Margaret (Curtis) Anderson, Jeanette (Darren) Woolsey, Matthew (Kami) Walker, Jacob (Tiffany) Walker, Benjamin (Teri) Walker, and Sandra (Michael) Brunson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie G. Walker.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurricane LDS 8th Ward Chapel, 155 East 1050 North, Hurricane, Utah. Visitations will be Tuesday, June 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 140 N. Main St., Hurricane, Utah and on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the chapel, prior to services. Interment will at the Hurricane City Cemetery. Yesterday at Girl's Camp, my sweet dear friend Krysti peacefully passed and is now in our Heavenly Fathers arms. We are all so sad, so heart broken. Kristie is the kind of friend everyone loves. And oh how much we are missing her.

All day yesterday and today, this Hymn has been running through my head.

Yesterday we went to Kolob to check out 'Girls Camp'
The whole time we are going up or down the mountain, I am saying,"It is so beautiful !"

Yesterday we bundled up and set out to play.
Because we were warm and together we had a fantastic time!!
We found a hill with ice and snow, it made a teriffic sledding hill.
Garbage bags were used to sit on and sometimes just the pants.
Fun!!
So much fun we are going to go do it again.

Perhaps the greatest charity comes when we are kind to each other, when we don’t judge or categorize someone else, when we simply give each other the benefit of the doubt or remain quiet. Charity is accepting someone’s differences, weaknesses, and shortcomings; having patience with someone who has let us down; or resisting the impulse to become offended when someone doesn’t handle something the way we might have hoped. Charity is refusing to take advantage of another’s weakness and being willing to forgive someone who has hurt us. Charity is expecting the best of each other.

None of us need one more person bashing or pointing out where we have failed or fallen short. Most of us are already well aware of the areas in which we are weak. What each of us does need is family, friends, employers, and brothers and sisters who support us, who have the patience to teach us, who believe in us, and who believe we’re trying to do the best we can, in spite of our weaknesses. What ever happened to giving each other the benefit of the doubt? What ever happened to hoping that another person would succeed or achieve? What ever happened to rooting for each other?
Real charity is not something you give away; it is something that you acquire and make a part of yourself. And when the virtue of charity becomes implanted in your heart, you are never the same again. It makes the thought of being a basher repulsive.

HAIRCUT PAYBACK

A couple of years ago I was cutting Kenneth's hair.
I forgot to put the guard back on.
I put the clippers on the back of his neck, And proceeded to take a BIG chunk from the back of his head. I screamed, "OH NO." Hugged him and started to laugh nervously.
When I dared to tell him what I had done, he laughed too. I didn't think it was a laughing matter!
I plead with him to go get the Barber to fix it. "What would he look like with a crew cut?" I thought. I could just see it now.
We had a party that night, I didn't want go. Oh boy, he did.
He showed off his new hairdo, he was so proud.
The next morning was church, I was mortified when he walked right up to the stand and took his seat.
He did go to "Tom's Barber Shop" on Monday night, and he did a terrific job. Needless to say, I do not cut his hair, not even a trim. He got too much delight from it.
So, last week, I went to get my hair cut by a girl who has done it before and did a great job.
I should have gone with my gut feeling and said let's do it later. All though the cut she was talking to her husband on the cell phone. They were discussing
"The EX WIFE" and trying to fix a custody battle.
I have a very "Different" haircut, but I am trying to laugh about it.

Walgreens vs Costco, You decide, I did !

This story all began when,
"Our home town drugstore" sold out to Walgreen's.
I have been trying to get my husbands prescriptions since they opened the first part of November.
Just a few things that have happened: They say that the insurance will not pay for another 2 days. I say, "He doesn't have insurance."
Another day they give us Vaginal Cream. I say "This is not for us."
They say, "OK we will keep it on the shelf for 10 days if you decide you want it."
I think to myself, "Oh, my."
Another day, they say, "Oh we can do it after 3:00PM."
It is 1:30PM, I walk around the store, go the the library, pick up a book on tape that is being held for me. The CD is the new Richard Paul Evans book "Grace"
Come home for awhile, do the things you have to do when you have just finished your Diet Pepsi, then decide to go back to Walgreen's. It is now 4:30, plenty of time right? Go wait in line and guess what? They tell me it's not ready.
Are you still with me?
Here comes the clincher, last night at 5:30 I call and they say, "Yes, we have two ready for him."
I am happy, and he will be also. (You know how we all like to make brownie points?)

They ring it up and say "$225.98." and that they need to see his insurance card, remember he doesn't have one?

I am thinking, "Do I really care?"
She is getting annoyed at me, and finally she says, "We can take it back this ONE time as a courtesy."
She goes to get a manager, who happens to be my friend.
I think she has been told about the "Mean lady" at the window.
My friend has a funny look on her face when sees me. She says to me, Are you OK?"
"Not really" I say, "I just can't believe that it costs this much."
I am a little shaking, try to calm myself down, I tell her thanks and Goodnight.
I turn on the key, click,click,click.
I can't believe it, the van will not start, a little tear falls down my cheek.
Thank goodness for my Knight in shinning armour who comes to the rescue. (after all, remember who this stuff is for?)
He jumps me right there in the parking lot. (I mean the van)

So, we get a call from Kristina yesterday saying she was taking Ellie to insta-care.
She had split her lip open. They sent her to the hospital, where a Plastic Surgeon had to sew her up. She is such a beautiful little girl and doesn't need any scars.
She told her Mom later that she liked her red hair. (I don't know if she knew it was blood.)

September 27, Kenneth,Venna Rae, Kristina, Newell, Jacob, Ellie, Steve & Susan Berg, and Don & Teresa Caldwell went on a beautiful Ride from Parowan-5 mile canyon-Yankee Meadow to Panguitch Lake. And then back to Parowan.

It was a beautiful day.

We started out having breakfast at "Parowan Cafe" owned by Teresa Caldwell.

Jacob & Ellie's Mom kept saying to them, "Both feet on the ground" as they were throwing rocks into the creek.

Now, I see why, it was quite a ways down.

The leaves were beautiful.

Kenneth posing, a storm was chasing us, but we were lucky to stay in front of it.

Well it finally happened, last night our whole stake was rearranged.
The rumors have been flying for several months.
I offered to be on the boundary committee, but they wouldn't let me. Imagine a women giving the priesthood suggestions, Oh my!
They say change is good, (I have always wondered, "Who they are?")
Some really good friends were scooted to other wards. We are getting more great people in our ward, and now we can quit spectulating.

This is what I do for fun 3 times a week.
Today Troy asked me if I wanted to run, I said, "Oh, my gosh, I don't know how to run."
But I tried, it was honestly hard to figure out, how do you pick up your feet that fast?
So I did a quick JOG for almost 1 minute. It was pretty fun, although it almost killed me.

At the family reunion, Karson kept asking his mom when it was his turn.
